Jonathan Ends State of Emergency In 15 Local Councils

President Goodluck Jonathan has ended the state of emergency he imposed on 15 local government areas on December 31, 2011, following a wave of violence and killings by the Boko Haram sect.
The move, announced today by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke, suggests that security has improved in the four affected States: Plateau, Borno, Yobe, and Niger.
