A statement credited to the affiliate of the US oil firm, ExxonMobil, on Monday’s oil spill in Ibeno has set off a hot dispute between the company and its host communities in Akwa Ibom.
The affiliate, Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN), was informed of the spill which was spotted Monday by residents of Atia community in Ibeno, Akwa Ibom, early this week.
